  • Life After Death: The Importance of Dead and Dying Trees

    Stoneleigh: a natural garden 1829 County Line Road, Villanova, Pennsylvania

    Most people are familiar with the innumerable benefits of living trees, but even after their death, trees provide vital habitat, shelter, and food for wildlife. Join our partner, Morris Arboretum, for a program to learn how dead and dying trees still teem with life, from tiny termites to fantastic flying squirrels and everything in between. This program will begin inside with a lecture and discussion and then move outdoors to explore the way Stoneleigh: a natural garden has worked to incorporate dead wood into its landscape projects and native plantings.   • Radiant Redbuds

    Stoneleigh: a natural garden 1829 County Line Road, Villanova, Pennsylvania

    Adorned in blooms of ivory, magenta, or dusty rose, eastern redbuds are among the showiest and most beloved of our spring-blooming trees. During this guided walk, explore Stoneleigh’s spectacular collection of nearly 30 eastern redbud varieties and bask in the beauty of the many other early-blooming trees in the spring garden.

  • PlayIn Time Music Circle

    Join our partners at PlayIn Time Productions for a weekly, interactive musical program geared toward children up to age five and their parents or caregivers. Instructors Virginia and Anthony will guide kiddos through warming up their bodies with movement, practicing listening skills using activities like freeze dances, and jamming to classic and new tunes. PlayIn Time’s music circles build musical connection and community through shared fun. Get ready to dance, jam, and learn! Mingle with other Natural Lands members for an afternoon of festive food and beverages, guided hikes and strolls, and family-friendly activities at a stunning 1,282-acre preserve. Guests are welcome!  Share your passion for protected open space by bringing friends and family along to experience the joy of nature and community.

  • Yoga in the Garden

    Relax the mind and strengthen the body with an all-levels yoga class and meditation session guided by Christina Fittipoldi in the tranquil setting of Stoneleigh.   • Secrets of Sadsbury Woods Hike

    Sadsbury Woods Preserve 443 Old Wilmington Road, Coatesville, Pennsylvania

    Join us for an educational journey through the beautiful Sadsbury Woods Preserve led by our dedicated volunteer stewards. We’ll explore the vital restoration efforts taking place in the area, as well as other conservation projects aimed at improving the ecology of this forested preserve.  Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply looking to enjoy the outdoors, this hike is a wonderful way to connect with nature and learn about the ongoing stewardship efforts at Sadsbury Woods.  This event is free, but registration is encouraged.
