Ärtsoppa, or Swedish yellow pea soup, is the traditional Thursday night supper in Sweden during the winter that dates back to medieval times. Bethesda Project, a local non-profit dedicated to providing emergency shelter, housing, and supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia, is hosting its 27th Annual Party & Auction on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the iconic Reading Terminal Market from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The Party & Auction is the organization’s major fundraising event, raising money and awareness for the life-changing programs and services they provide for thousands of Philadelphians experiencing homelessness. The event features iconic food from Reading Terminal Market vendors, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle. All proceeds allow Bethesda Project to continue their work and achieve their mission

Meet Philadelphia artist, Deborah Zuchman at @bennascafe (at the corner of *th & Wharton Sts.) Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2-4pm. Deborah was an Art Demonstration Teacher and taught in the Philadelphia Public Schools for thirty-five years. She also worked as a Project Manager for the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program for several years. Zuchman paints en plein air and from her imagination. Planting trees at the preserve helps to provide habitat to local wildlife, combat climate change and helps to maintain our local water supply as the trees we plant keep runoff from heading to the Schuylkill River watershed.
