    Join us with your family to adopt and plant trees at Riverbend. Fall is a wonderful time to plant trees just before it turns colder in the winter months. Planting trees at the preserve helps to provide habitat to local wildlife, combat climate change and helps to maintain our local water supply as the trees we plant keep runoff from heading to the Schuylkill River watershed.   • Owl Howl

    Many people have heard an owl, but few have ever seen one. Mt. Cuba’s varied landscapes and topography provide the ideal habitats for three of Delaware’s native owl species – the barred, great horned, and Eastern screech – and winter is the best time to spot them roosting in our trees. Owls are nocturnal so join us as we search for them just after dusk. Following a brief introductory lecture, we’ll head into the garden and listen for their unique calls. Dress for the weather.     Land Health Native Plant Nursery

    Learn how to gather free medicine and food from many of Philly's wild plants with the wise and wonderful Lady Danni. Lady Danni (she/her/crone) calls herself a good lady forager. She is a crafter of herbals helping people reconnect with the healing power of nature and explores the edible and medicinal qualities of the "plants formerly known as weeds." She hosts urban foraging tours in Philadelphia, often as part of Wild Foodies of Philly, and she is an advocate for urban green spaces, community gardens and land sovereignty. She, along with seven other farmers and urban gardeners comprise the Painted
