Join us with your family at Riverbend as a Martin Luther King Day of Service! Riverbend is hosting a Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and improve their communities. This event is open to ALL ages! Please bring your own water and work gloves to the event. Volunteers will be working outdoors helping our Habitat Manager with invasive plant removal. Do you love cooking, trying tasty new recipes, or learning how to be eco-friendly in the kitchen? Then this workshop is just for you! Join Riverbend and our friends from Greener Partners for a super fun, kid-friendly hands-on morning in our indoor and outdoor kitchens! Together, we’ll whip up delicious, healthy food while learning cool things about where our food comes from. The best part? You’ll get to hop on their awesome blender bike to help make one of the recipes—pedaling your way to a yummy treat! This workshop is perfect for kids ages 8 and up to enjoy with

Health & Well-Being Tour: The Benefits of Experiences in Nature

This tour introduces concepts surrounding the value of nature as it relates to health and well-being. Explore the gardens and discuss the evolutionary and environmental phenomena behind concepts like forest bathing, mindfulness, stress recovery, and the biophilia hypothesis. Learn how elements of landscape design shape our emotional and behavioral experiences in nature. One hour, $7 in addition to admission, free for members. This program takes place in person at Mt. Cuba Center on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
