Celebrate the longest day of the year and welcome summer at Riverbend! Did you know that on summer solstice the sun makes its longest journey across the sky making it the longest day of the year? This day has been celebrated by many cultures throughout history and marks the beginning of summer! Join us on Riverbend’s preserve for summer fun! We’ll have a wine garden for the adults, activities for the kids, pretzels and water ice, a bonfire and s’mores, and live music. Philly knows how to throw a party, and this year, The Franklin Institute is taking the celebration outdoors to celebrate the start to summer. On Saturday, June 20, Philadelphia’s iconic science museum transforms into an afternoon of live music, and hands-on science. With programming for every age, the festivities will spread across the front steps, atrium, and museum grounds. Expect soccer activities led by the Philadelphia Union (and a special guest appearance by Phang), weather science with NBC10's Justin Godynick, solar viewing, giant bubbles, and more!
