  • Family Bike Friday for Southwest Neighbors

    (Rescheduled from Friday, April 28) Southwest neighbors, meet us by the basketball court at 56th Street & Lindbergh Boulevard for a family bike ride through the Garden! Free bikes, helmets, and snacks will be provided, as well as a kid’s bike raffle. Parents, you can also sign a one-time waiver that will allow your child to have access to free bike rentals on Youth Bike Fridays and Open Bike Hub Saturday events all spring at the Bartam’s Garden Bike Hub. Stop by Bartram’s Village Community Center at 54th & Lindbergh to register! This event is exclusively for residents of Southwest

    Come by for free walk-up bike rentals; as well as simple repairs (flats, chains, brake adjustments),  diagnostics, and bike safety brochures! Please register in advance. The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is hosting FREE biking days at Bartram’s Garden through the end of November. Come ride the Bartram Mile trail!  

  • Northwest Night Rides with the Bicycle Coalition

    Northwest Night Rides are social group bike rides focused in and around Northwest Philadelphia.  We meet every other Wednesday at 7:00 pm and usually end at a bar, brewery, or restaurant.  Anyone is welcome to join – living in Northwest Philly is not a requirement!  Given the geography, most rides involve hills, but we don’t leave anyone behind.  Please check our Instagram page for ride details.

  • Ride of Silence

    The annual Ride of Silence is an international ride that honors bicyclists killed or injured by motor vehicles. The 2023 Ride of Silence will be held on Wednesday, May 17, from 6:45 pm – 8 pm. This ride will start at the North Apron of City Hall with a short memorial ceremony and slow bike ride that will travel an 8-mile route at 9.5 miles per hour through Center City before ending the Art Museum for a memorial bike lift. The ride occurs rain or shine and we invite the entire bicycling community to join us as they have for the past 19 years.

  • Bike Tour of Bartram’s Mile with Urban Riding Basics

    Bike Container

    Join us for a slow-paced ride highlighting Bartram’s Bike Trail.  The ride will make a few stops, including a short info session about how to properly wear a helmet, use basic hand signals, and an overview of the trail. You can bring your own bike and helmet or rent a bike and helmet for free at the class. Various levels of experience are welcome on the tour and no one will be left behind, but participants should have some basic riding knowledge. For those with no biking experience who are seeking to learn how to ride, check out the Learn-to-Ride

  • Wednesday Night Rides

    Wednesday Night Rides are social bike rides in Philly, every two weeks. Rides start at a variety of locations throughout the city and usually but not always end at a bar or restaurant. Rides are moderately paced (average 8 mph) and prioritize bicycle infrastructure and connecting with other riders. All are welcome! Please check social media (Reddit or Instagram) for the details of each ride.

    This FREE two-hour Learn to Ride class teaches participants how to ride a bicycle.  This class is perfect for those who have never ridden a bike or who may need a refresher.   • Night Cycle: Two Bridges

    Ride over the Ben Franklin, up the river to a rest stop in the shadow of two bridges, then come back over Tacony Palmyra, and through the riverwards back to where we started.

  • Lloyd Hall Learn-to-Ride with the Bicycle Coalition

    This Adult Learn-to-Ride is a 2-hour class for adults or mature teens who are ready to ride a bicycle! Pending weather conditions, this will be an outdoor class along a quiet lane in the Azalea Garden at Lloyd Hall. Students will be shown how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bicycle as well as adjust a helmet for proper fit. Most people learn to ride a bicycle during the class, but even if they do not they’ll leave knowing a low-stress method to teach themselves to ride.

  • District 1 Meetup

    This is our first District 1 event.
