Become a neighborhood greening hero! Learn about tree care and planting by participating in a PHS Tree Tenders training. This eight-hour course* will be offered through recorded sessions available until July 31. Workshop topics include tree biology, identification, planting, and proper care. You will be joining one of the nation’s oldest, most respected volunteer urban tree-care programs. Tree Tenders are given the tools to plant and nurture trees in their own neighborhoods. If you have a kindergarten through 3rd grader looking to spend time in nature with friends, join Riverbend educators on Tuesday afternoons for after school outdoor enrichment. Participants will explore the many habitats on the preserve, meet our animal ambassadors, and connect with nature through a variety of activities including games, stories, and crafts.

Learn about volunteering with the Haverford College Arboretum!This event is for those interested in becoming a volunteer with the Arboretum. The session will include a tour of the grounds, information on upcoming volunteer sessions, and allow interested individuals to complete the paperwork necessary for volunteering at Haverford. Volunteer sessions are held every other Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon starting on April 16th and running through October. We welcome both new volunteers and returning volunteers to take part in this refresher/tour.Parking for this event is located in the Visitor Parking Lot off of Woods Road. Please allow 5-10 minutes
