Volunteer – Care for Nature

Grab gloves and join fellow volunteers in removing invasive plant species, nurturing native plants, and restoring habitats. Projects vary, but good fun (and dirt) is guaranteed! Natural Lands cares for more than 23,000 acres and 120 miles of trails, and we couldn’t do it without volunteers like you. Volunteering with Natural Lands is a great way to learn more about the natural world, give your time to a great cause, and connect with enthusiastic, like-minded people. Let’s take a healthy stroll in the park together! Join your neighbors every Saturday morning for a healthy and empowering stroll on the Tacony Creek Park trail. On Saturdays, we meet from 9:30am–10:30am near Tacony Creek Park. All are welcome to join us for this free walking group. The trail is a paved, fairly flat Circuit Trail; all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. Please bring a face mask and keep six feet away from other attendees. Attendees can walk in to participate or email doryan@ttfwatershed.org.

Greenhouse Volunteer Day

Health reminders: We are in accordance with Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia’s current COVID-19 response levels. Please follow the link to stay up-to-date on our city’s protocols. If you are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please do not volunteer. Volunteers will assist with weeding and potting plants for our greenhouse and nursery. Volunteers will have the opportunity see what is growing behind the scenes and help support the nursery operations. Registered volunteers will meet at the Sankofa Community Farm promptly at 9:30 AM. Staff will escort you to the greenhouse from the farm and provide instructions and safety protocols

Summer Foraging Walk

Join us for free kayaking and rowboating on the Tidal Schuylkill River! No pre-registration or experience necessary. Suitable for all ages and beginners. Equipment, life jackets, and basic instruction provided–first come, first served. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
