Winter Salt Snapshot- NEW DATE!
We apologize for rescheduling this program several times. The winter has been much harsher than expected, and we had to prioritize volunteer safety. Thank you for your understanding!
Are you interested in participating in a citizen science study? WEC staff and Friends of the Wissahickon volunteers will be taking water samples at 20 points along the Wissahickon Creek and its tributaries, then performing two tests that indicate the levels of salt in the Creek. Water collection is 10:30 am-1:30 pm. Wear proper footwear for wet, muddy, or frozen conditions. Please send an email to WEC@phila.gov regarding whether you prefer collection or testing. Collecting will involve driving to a location in the park and then walking a site collection point. We may drive our van to some points along Forbidden Drive.
