FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH AGES 12-17
Celebrate National Moth Week at Tyler Arboretum!
Ever wonder what’s flying around after dark? Join us for an evening of mothing at Tyler Arboretum, where we’ll explore the hidden world of nighttime insects. We’ll set up light stations to attract moths and other insects, giving you a rare chance to see these elusive pollinators up close.
You’ll learn how to recognize some of our more common moth species, find out why they matter, and get tips on how to support them in your backyard. It’s a low-key, eye-opening way to experience nature at night—perfect for anyone curious about the natural world.
Bring a flashlight and your questions, and be prepared to be surprised by the beauty and biodiversity that lives just beyond the porch light.
Important Information: This program takes place after Tyler’s regular hours. The front gate will open at 8:45 pm—please plan to arrive on time. Park in our overflow lot and check in with the staff associate. We will walk to the mothing site as a group.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Registration closes at 5:30 pm the day of the program, so register early!
