Nature Walk & Papermaking Art Experiments

June 11, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Explore, create, & connect! Join us for an afternoon of papermaking, a nature walk, and artsy play.

A walk in the woods to identify plants and then let’s make paper and play with natural materials together. Bring a curiosity for natural materials and your experimental crafty spirit open to explore and see what happens!

Come for all or part of the afternoon. Suitable to bring children along. Rain or shine–and if it’s shine, bring a blanket and snacks along to play and enjoy the Wissahickon.

This project is supported in part with funding from the Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation and the Marrazzo Family Foundation.

12:30-1 Welcome + “Invasive” Paper Vat Preparation

Choose from 3 vats of pulp to pull a sheet of paper or create paper pulp art:

– Japanese Knotweed Pulp

– Wild Garlic Mustard Pulp

– Invasive Thoughts/Transformation Recycled Paper Pulp

2:30-3pm | Closing & Cleanup

Bring a few pieces of paper to transform/recycle, a curiosity for natural materials, and your experimental crafty spirit open to explore and see what happens!
