Mending Pile Pizza Party

We all have a pile of clothes to-be-mended sitting in our closet. While it might not be our first choice of sewing project, it can feel great to go through the pile and put those pieces back into your wardrobe rotation!
This workshop is open to sewists of all levels, from beginners to pros. Tailor Ruby Gertz will provide guidance and support as needed, and demonstrate different mending techniques like how to sew patches and buttons, as well as basic machine darning. You’ll have access to our fleet of sewing machines, sewing and cutting tools, and large cutting tables.
$45 workshop fee includes access to materials such as thread, embroidery floss, basic shirt buttons, sew-on snaps, interfacing and scrap material for patching. Our studio is also conveniently located just a few blocks from Gaffney Fabrics on Germantown Avenue, where you can pick up more specific materials should you need them (such as replacement zippers or matching thread). Pizza and snacks will also be provided.
This workshop is for adult students ages 18+.
