Memory Bear Making Workshop with THE COLORG at EcoFair

April 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

THECOLORG’s Memory Bear Making Workshop is a soft experience where participants will learn how to hand sew a simple special teddy bear.

Join THECOLORG at EcoFair for a Memory Bear Making Workshop!

This is a soft experience where participants will learn how to hand sew a simple special teddy bear using clothes, garments, or scraps that hold sentimental value to them.

The goal for this workshop to to create a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals of all ages can come together to share their stories and memories through this hands-on activity. By repurposing cherished clothing items into a cuddly handmade teddy bear, THECOLORG hopes to help participants recognize, preserve, and honor the memories associated with the fabrics and their histories, while simultaneously giving the material a sustainable new life. The workshop will be led by THECOLORG and designed for any level of skill. Participants will be provided with a pattern, basic sewing supplies (needles, thread, scissors, etc.), step-by-step instructions, and individual attention throughout the workshop. While participants would ideally bring fabric that is personally meaningful to them, THECOLORG will also provide free scrap fabrics for use. At the end of the workshop, everyone will have a new soft friend to take home, gift, or to travel with and create new memories!

When registering, if it’s within your means, please consider a donation when registering through Eventbrite to help us cover the expenses of this workshop. The cost to run this workshop works out to be $15 per person.
