FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH AGES 12-17
A leisurely-paced tour with a bit of Tyler history, collection highlights, shaded woods, and sunny gardens.
Join Tyler docent Woody Kotch on this tour through Tyler’s magnolia, lilac, and crabapple collections. Then stroll through the cool, shaded Native Woodland Walk for some discussion of the local ecology and how climate change may affect this environment. We will continue with a stop at Lucille’s Garden to see what edibles are looking good this year and chat about water management at Tyler. The tour will conclude at Woody’s favorite spot at Tyler, the Pollinator Preserve. Here we will share knowledge of pollinators, pollinator life cycles, and the pollinator/host plant connection. You can pick up some tips on starting or adding to your pollinator garden at home and learn why pollinators are so vital to our food chain and the Earth’s future well-being.
