Image via parkchestercsa.blogspot.comThere’s a new way to support sustainability in the workplace, and it tastes better than plastic recycling bins. The Delaware Valley Farm Share (DVFS) is bringing locally grown, handpicked produce directly to businesses in the Philadelphia area.
DVFS is a partnership of Farm to City and the Common Market, two organizations that connect local farmers and their produce with Philadelphia residents. DVFS works with family farms in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware; all farms practice environmentally-friendly agricultural methods.
By purchasing a share, residents will help farmers stay in business and in return, receive a bi-weekly delivery of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and eggs. Members also have the option to join a dairy share and receive butter, cheese, and yogurt at an additional cost. The cost for the season is $299 ($23 per delivery plus a $23 registration fee). Deliveries will begin in late May and end in late October.
