East Park Excursión: Boxer’s Trail Hike and BBQ Party

Latino Outdoors and Fairmount Park Conservancy invite Philadelphia’s Latino community to a free afternoon hike along Fairmount Park’s beautiful Boxers’ Trail. The trail got its name because for many years Philadelphia boxers, including Smokin’ Joe Frazier, have used it as part of their training regimen.

Latino Outdoors y Fairmount Park Conservancy invitan a la comunidad latina de Filadelfia a una caminata gratuita por la hermosa Boxers’ Trail de Fairmount Park. El sendero recibió su nombre debido a que durante muchos años boxeadores de Filadelfia, incluyendo a Smokin’ Joe Frazier, lo han utilizado como parte de su régimen de entrenamiento.

HIKE/CAMINATA: 3:00-5:15
Boxer’s Trail is a relatively new, well-maintained trail that is great for the beginner hiker. It’s 3.8-miles and mostly flat, with gravel and paved paths that wind through East Fairmount Park, creating unique views overlooking the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive. The Boxers’ Trail also connects the historic Smith Memorial Playground and the historic mansions of Fairmount Park to the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood and we will stop to discuss many of these points of interest.

Boxers’ Trail es un sendero relativamente nuevo y bien mantenido, ideal para los excursionistas principiantes. Tiene una longitud de 3.8 millas y es en su mayoría plano, con caminos de grava y pavimentados que serpentean a través de East Fairmount Park, ofreciendo vistas únicas del río Schuylkill y Kelly Drive.
