Join us for a free, collaborative mimeograph workshop and learn about printmaking and the Declaration of IndependenceMade famous during the mid-20th century during the “Mimeograph Revolution,” these low-cost “Mimeo” machines allowed poets, artists, and civil rights groups to spread their messages, free from the confines of the traditional book and periodical publishing industries. Now more of a niche hobby, mimeography continues to be an easy, low-cost way of duplicating artwork or printed text. Using the original design of the mimeograph and a simple table-top stencil duplicator, you will create your very own version of a mimeograph print! VU PHL is partnering with Sisters Interacting Through Stitches for their 16th Annual MLK Day of Service - join us!Sisters Interacting Through Stitches is a diverse group of women who crochet and knit items, that are donated to local, national and international programs.What we will be doing on Saturday, January 13th, 10AM - 1 PM:Sisters Interacting Through Stitches and the Wynnefield Library will host their 16th Annual MLK Day of Service Event on January 13, 2024. During the event, we will crochet and knit caps for infants, scarves, and bonding squares, which will be donated to local and national organizations.
