    Meeting at the parking lot across from Walnut Lane Golf Club There is parking in the lot on Magdalena Street, across from the Walnut Lane Golf Club clubhouse. There are bathrooms available to use at the golf course. All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. Our hike will take us on both sides of the Wissahickon Creek and over two bridges! Last year we saw spring beauties, mayapples, bloodroot, jack-in-the- pulpit, trout lilies, and trillium. Will we be that lucky this year? We’ll also check on what the frogs are doing at the frog pond. We may visit some points of historical interest on our route. This hike is about 4.5 miles and we will plan to spend about 3 hours on the trails. There are some rocky ascents and a particularly rocky descent, so

    Meeting at the parking lot on Magdalena Street across from the Walnut Lane Golf Club Join Debbie and Jim as we hike the Wissahickon in October. We hope to see some beautiful fall color during our walk. We’ll observe what our favorite plants look like this time of year and may even see some Osage oranges and a flowering native euonymus. Toleration is on our route along with some other points of historical interest. Our approximately 3.5-4 mile route includes some steep and rocky inclines and descents.     Meet at Walnut Lane Golf Club In winter, our senses are amplified by the lack of foliage and sights and sounds of the woods are transformed. Join Debbie, Jim and Andi as we identify some native winter shrubs, spot ghostly sycamores, and listen to the sounds of the creek below. We will certainly spot some woodpeckers working on the hollow trees to find food. Distance is about 4 miles. Children over the age of 12 are welcome, but no dogs unless service dogs please.
