Awbury Food Forest Foraging Workshops – Garlic Mustard Harvest

The Farm at Awbury, 6336 Ardleigh St, Philadelphia, PA

Join us for our Earth Day Celebration on the farm where Awbury Food Forest lead volunteer Jeannie Gerth will lead a spring forage walk where attendees will harvest and remove garlic mustard from the food forest. Attendees will then be invited to make a tasty garlic mustard side and a spicy condiment with the harvest!

Many Hands Apothecary Herbal Aid Ed – Classes

Welcome to Herbal Aid! The Many Hands Community Apothecary is a cluster of garden beds located in The Farm at Awbury. During the Herbal Aid Ed course, students will care and support those garden beds over the 9-month course of study. The program covers an introduction to 40+ plants from a range of cross-cultural traditions. These include the cultivated, wild, and native medicines of our Philadelphia bio-region on the ancestral indigenous territory of the Lenni Lenape/Wingohoking. Each class includes hands-on time in the Many Hands Community Apothecary garden on site at Awbury Arboretum where we will cover various growing methods,

Wild Wisdom & Potluck

Join us for Wild Wisdom & Potluck! The Wild Wisdom course is designed to introduce common and underutilized wild edible, medicinal, and craft plants of the Philadelphia bio-region, ancestral homeland of the Lenape/Wingohocking people.
