Revival Walk: Philly Celebrates Jazz Edition

Join Olney Culture Lab on Saturday, April 20 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm for a Revival Walk (Philly Celebrates Jazz Edition) through Tacony Creek Park in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia where we will honor the sun, wind, trees, birds and nature. Mama Carla will share stories illuminating the history of jazz as well as our place in community with one another and with our natural environment. Originally created by dance artist / activist Lela Aisha Jones during the height of the pandemic, the Revival Walks brought healing, solace and joy to participants, as facilitators lifted up Afro-centric practices

Let’s take a healthy stroll in the park together! Join your neighbors every Friday or Saturday morning, or Sunday afternoon for a healthy and empowering stroll on the Tacony Creek Park trail. On Fridays, we meet from 9:00am–10:00am at E Tabor Rd & E Olney Ave. All are welcome to join us for this free walking group. The trail is a paved, fairly flat Circuit Trail; all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. All programs follow Philadelphia Covid guidelines. Register Here to join. Help us tidy up Tacony Creek Park! Meet new friends and join neighbors to clean up Tacony Creek Park at the Tabor Rd Gateway. Please register here.  All tools and supplies will be provided, including work gloves, snacks, and water. We supply masks. Restrooms are not available. People of the Park Ribbon Cutting

We are so excited to invite the Tacony Creek Park community to join us for the People of the Park Ribbon Cutting. We will host the first ceremony at the southernmost sign, along the Tacony Creek Park trail right below the gateway at East Tabor Road and East Olney Avenue. The speaking program and ribbon cutting will run from 2pm to 2:30pm.
