Families are invited to Smith Memorial Playground for an afternoon of free hands-on craft activities at the annual CraftNOW Create! Hosted by CraftNOW Philadelphia, children receive step-by-step instructions and demonstrations on how to create eight unique and delightful craft projects ideal for elementary-age students. This year’s CraftNOW Create features projects from the Asian Arts Initiative, The Clay Studio, Da Vinci Art Alliance, the Museum for Art in Wood, The Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. CraftNOW Create is a rain-or-shine event sponsored by the Joseph Robert Foundation.

Join Philly Thrive for the FIRST in-person public meeting on the historic refinery redevelopment where Hilco executives will be present to listen, answer questions, and work to rebuild transparency & accountability. We are excited to focus on key issues around the redevelopment in a public forum with real back-and-forth dialogue – including the site cleanup, flood protection plans, community reinvestment through a CBA, and jobs for residents impacted by the site's history. It's been a priority of Philly Thrive's since Hilco took over in 2020 to have regular in-person public meetings, to ensure genuine repair of the 150+ years of

Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse invites families to its historic 6 ½ acre Playground and indoor play space in East Fairmount Park to celebrate all things frosty and fun in the midst of the holiday season! Families will enjoy an ice carving demonstration by local sculptor Roger Wing, s'mores roasting over fire pits, an array of winter-themed crafts, and tasty treats. Admission is $10 per child or free for adults, Smith members, and ACCESS card holders. This event is rain or shine.
