Join us for a fun-filled day with your family to adopt and plant trees at Riverbend.Fall is a wonderful time to plant trees just before it turns colder in the winter months. Planting trees at the preserve helps to combat climate change and helps to maintain our local water supply as the trees we plant keep runoff from heading to the Schuylkill River watershed.This event is open to ALL ages! Registration is required as spaces are limited.Please bring your own water and work gloves to the event.

We believe that joy comes from time spent outdoors. Budding Naturalists aims to foster a connection with nature for our youngest learners.Join Riverbend educators every Monday or Wednesday for a fun, preschool-friendly, nature-based program that includes a story, craft, nature activity, and a “hike” around our preserve. Every week we’ll gather in Riverbend’s Snider Barn to begin the fun. Program Details: This program is designed for children ages 2-5. A caregiver must accompany each child. The Secret Life of the Red Fox Book Reading and Art Workshop

Riverbend is excited to host local illustrator Kate Garchinsky for a reading of "The Secret Life of the Red Fox" followed by an art workshop. This fun, educational story is perfect for a winter's day. The story begins on a snowy February afternoon and follows the mother fox’s life cycle as the seasons change around her. Following the book reading, Kate will lead participants through an art project. This event is intended for children ages 6-12. A parent or guardian must accompany the child to the event. Bluebird numbers were once in decline but thanks to the efforts of conservation minded individuals and organizations their numbers have increased. Unfortunately, some Bluebird lovers think they are doing a good deed by simply putting up a nest box in their back yard. That is not the case and often can do more harm than good.
