The Art of Soil

High School Park Montgomery Ave & High School Rd., Elkins Park, PA, United States

A hands-on workshop where we'll make and use paint from soil!Prehistoric humans made their paint from rocks and soil. We are still making art with these rich colors today. In this workshop, we will make pigments from soils gathered in the Cheltenham watershed and try our hand at painting with soil watercolors! Artworks created during the workshop will be incorporated into Mapping Our Watershed, a mixed media piece by local artist Rebecca Schultz inspired by the watershed in Cheltenham Township.
