    An in-person workshop with Transversal, co-sponsored by Blue Stoop and The Head & The Hand. Translating literature into another language builds bridges and amplifies voices through shared stories. It's also a challenging but highly rewarding creative practice that draws on skills like knowledge of multiple languages and cultures, close reading and research, and problem solving. In this workshop, Emily Hunsberger (Mount Airy-based literary translator and member of Transversal, Philadelphia’s literary translation collective) will help pull back the curtain on different approaches to the translation process, guide participants through a practical exercise with literary texts, facilitate an affirming conversation to reflect

  • Morning Story Time with Ms. AJ at H&H Books

    Ms. AJ will lead us in story and song throughout the year--along with some special guests--as we explore a new theme each month. Expect percussive instruments to share and play provided by our friends at Unless Kids, a couple of great reads, and a song circle, in our gender-inclusive space where all identities are encouraged to thrive. Our Thursday afternoon story times are geared towards kiddos 12 months and younger, while our Sunday morning story times are for all ages. On 3/30, we will celebrate Women's History Month and read Beauty Woke by Nonieqa Ramos, Broken Butterfly Wings by Raquel
