Mudlarking is the act of looking for discarded remnants along creeks and riverbanks during low tide. In this workshop, former Glen Foerd Artist in Residence Cory Kram will lead participants to the Poquessing Creek (a former dumping ground in the early 1900s) for a treasure hunt! Antique bottles, ceramic shards, buttons, marbles, and bottle-stoppers are just some of the many objects that visitors may find in the creek. Participants will collect these objects, wash them, and take them home as souvenirs. A corresponding creek clean-up will occur during the mudlarking. Let’s see what we can find! The walk happens twice a year, in February and September. Join JJ Tiziou and walk leaders for a day-long walk along to Northeast border of Philadelphia beginning with coffee and donuts at Glen Foerd. The group will be leaving from Glen Foerd at 8:30am and walking north towards Somerton. Segments are estimated to take roughly 12-15 miles and 6-8 hours. The terrain may include roads, sidewalks and off-roading in brambles and creek-beds.

Get a glimpse of the two families that called Glen Foerd home from 1850 to 1971. During the tour, we will demonstrate our newly restored 1902 Haskell pipe organ.
