BACKGROUND The next phase of the Master Plan for FDR, Park, with the support of Fairmont Park Conservancy, calls for the demolition and removal of 441 trees – 64 of them heritage trees. Their demolition will pave the way for nine synthetic turf fields, 14 courts, and 170 parking spaces. The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania has co-signed a letter to the Mayor to ask for a pause in the plan.
