Printing with Plants

Cheltenham Center for the Arts 439 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham, PA, United States

A free hands-on workshop where we'll make prints with plants! The stems, leaves, and flowers of plants are essential to their functions: making their own food and providing it to other living things, building healthy soil, cleaning and filtering water, and providing shade. They also create beautiful shapes, lines, and patterns. In this workshop, we will make monoprints with plants. Artworks created during the workshop will be incorporated into Mapping Our Watershed, a mixed media piece by local artist Rebecca Schultz inspired by the watershed in Cheltenham Township.

A hands-on workshop where we'll make and use paint from soil!Prehistoric humans made their paint from rocks and soil. We are still making art with these rich colors today. In this workshop, we will make pigments from soils gathered in the Cheltenham watershed and try our hand at painting with soil watercolors! Artworks created during the workshop will be incorporated into Mapping Our Watershed, a mixed media piece by local artist Rebecca Schultz inspired by the watershed in Cheltenham Township. Please join us in July for more workshops about watershed ecology and art!
