    ​​Join Schuylkill Banks and Bird Philly for a free, guided bird walk on the Schuylkill River Trail in Philadelphia. ​Learn about local birds and explore the trail. No birding experience necessary! ​​Meet at the parking lot on the Bartram's Mile section of the trail near the main entrance of Bartram's Garden (at the meadow). We will walk up to a mile, stopping frequently. You can get to this section of the trail via bike, car, or public transit. There are public bathrooms available at Bartram's Garden. ​No binoculars? No worries! Birding backpacks with binoculars and field guides can be borrowed

    BlackStar presents a site-specific, newly commissioned performance series and installation at Bartram’s Garden, from artist Joiri Minaya. Curated by writer and editor Dessane Lopez Cassell, the series will reflect on the intertwined legacies of freedom, extraction, and ecology in North America's oldest surviving botanical garden. Much like a Venus flytrap, the plant this project is named for, Joiri Minaya's practice often employs beauty before its bite, utilizing sensuality, lush florals and hues to invite deeper reflection on thornier aspects of history and the impacts of colonialism.
