  • Ecological Re-Storyation Workshop (SOLD OUT-JOIN WAITLIST)

    Bartram’s Garden Barn

    Guided by Robin Wall Kimmerer and We Are the Seeds of CultureTrust, participants will learn about the wisdom and ecology of several native plants, with the opportunity to plant these seeds in a shared act of restoration—nurturing seedlings at home that may later be returned to an Indigenous Listening Garden. This event is supported by Plant Baby Plant. Parking is limited, so we suggest arriving early.   • The Well Tree Performance (SOLD OUT – JOIN WAITLIST)

    Bartram’s Garden Barn

    Join the Heartwood Trio for an all-ages, participatory journey through story and song. The Well Tree is a three-person musical, illustrated with a ‘crankie’—an illuminated, papercut, hand-cranked scroll. It is an original ‘singing story’ about a young woman moving beyond the fog of isolation and shame to meet songbirds, snails, and ancient trees as she finds her way home. TICKETS – Tickets are FREE and seating is limited. Please register to reserve tickets.   • Seed Jewelry Workshop

    Bartram’s Garden Barn

    In case of inclement weather, this workshop will be rescheduled to 3/28. Join artist Eric César Morales for an art-making workshop! Participants will learn to weave intricate jewelry with seeds harvested from around Philadelphia, including the grounds of Bartram’s Garden, as well as seeds collected from Latin America and the Pacific. We will learn about the historical and cultural significance of each type of seed, including their roles in art, music, food, medicine, and folktales.  Participants will design and weave their own bracelets out of seeds!     Join us for a fun and creative afternoon of community quilting as a part of the Mother Tongue series, which celebrates healing and liberation through Black art. Bring your own fabric scraps or use some of ours to create a unique quilt square that can be the start of something beautiful or a stand-alone piece for your lap or table. Please bring a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. We’ll have extra water and a limited supply of mats on hand as well. While the class begins at 3:15, participants are encouraged to gather and ground themselves in the space from 3-3:15pm. Classes will meet indoors in the Barn. Rain or shine!

    This free event is rain or shine! Programming will take place in the Upper Meadows and Barn, but will move fully indoors to the Barn in the case of inclement weather. Join Oshun Family Center for a rejuvenating and healing experience at Bartram’s Garden. Immerse yourself in the soothing practice of yoga and the transformative power of sound baths as we come together to restore balance and harmony to mind, body, and spirit.
