Participate in salt study at Wissahickon Creek. Collect water samples and analysis for effects of winter salting.We apologize for having delayed the Winter Salt Snapshot twice! The winter conditions were too harsh to safely conduct the study.Are you interested in participating in a citizen science study? In the morning, WEC staff and Friends of the Wissahickon staff and volunteers will be taking water samples at 20 points along the Wissahickon Creek and its tributaries. Then we will bring back the samples and a few volunteers and staff will perform two test that indicate the levels of salt in the Creek.

Water collection is 9am-noon. Most volunteers are needed for water collection. Testing is 12:30 to 3 pm. Where proper footwear for wet, muddy, or frozen conditions.
