    Learn to use basic woodworking hand tools and skills to make a platform birdfeeder. Ages 9 and up. Workshop is 3 to 4 weeks long.Learn to use basic woodworking hand tools and skills to make a platform birdfeeder. You will learn to use a hand saw and an old-fashioned drill called a brace and bit. Other skills include measuring, hammering nails, and sanding. An estimated 3-to-4-week commitment is needed for project completion (Tuesdays, Oct 21-Nov.11). We will work outside on our back porch.     Enjoy a guided bird walk in the Andorra Natural Area during lunchtime! All levels of birders welcome.Enjoy a guided bird walk in the Andorra Natural Area during lunchtime. Late fall/winter is an excellent time for birding, as the Wissahickon is host to many boreal forest species like juncos, sparrows, and spasuckers. If it's too cold, we will stay inside and watch the feeders. We will not hike if it is actively raining or snowing. However, join us on the porch to watch the feeders. Walks vary in length from 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs.
