Join Connor O’Hea at Rushton Woods Preserve to explore our winter birds! Even though our feathered friends are quieter this time of year, they are still abundant everywhere. Dark-eyed Juncos and White-throated Sparrows flit about the underbrush, Eastern Bluebirds hunt from their posts in the farm fields, and sometimes even Eastern Towhees can be spotted in the thickets. As an ecologist and avid birder, Connor has the privilege of working closely with birds in both the field and the hand. His experience ranges from watching birds in his backyard to bird banding for long-term monitoring purposes (including for Rushton Woods
