Learn to paint, collage, and build dimension with encaustic wax!*Beginners welcome! This is our second encaustic workshop, so the lesson will be slightly more involved than the first, but if you've ever held a paint brush (or not) you'll do just fine! What is encaustic wax and how is it used in art?Encaustic consists of natural beeswax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap). Learn to make a wreath-sized flower out of repurposed aluminum cans!Oh, the possibilities of reuse! In this workshop, you'll learn to take aluminum cans from your favorite drinks and turn them into a wreath-sized flower to put in your garden, on your door, or anywhere inside or out! Who may participate? • Adults • Ages 14-17 with adult partner This workshop is fun for family members to do together, but keep in mind that some hand strength is needed to cut & staple the aluminum.What to bring? • 12-20 empty & clean aluminum cans. More cans = "fluffier" flower! Recommended
