A hands-on in-person square foot planting, companion planting and mulching workshop. DOOR PRIZES! DOOR PRIZES! DOOR PRIZES!This workshop is designed to familiarize participants with the principles behind square foot planting, companion planting and mulching. Demonstrations of each technique will be performed to reinforce the learning objectives. The purpose of learning these gardening skills is to help maximize vegetable, fruit and flower production. DOOR PRIZES! DOOR PRIZES! DOOR PRIZES! Door prizes will be raffled off at the end of the workshop.

Plant Pests, Diseases& Nutrient DeficienciesThis hands-on workshop will cover common plant diseases and nutritional deficiencies found among vegetable and fruit plants grown in small scale urban agricultural production systems. We will also discuss the prevention of common plant pests to include identifying of crop beneficials, helpful insects and prevention techniques for your summer and fall crops.

Vegan Sausage Making 101!FlatBelly Veg is returning with another tasty vegan food preparation workshop! This time around FlatBelly Veg will be demonstrating the fine culinary art of vegan sausage making! In addition to learning how to prepare vegan sausage, Josh, the founder and owner or FlatBelly Veg, will discuss the nutritional, environmental and financial benefits of eating a plant-based diet.

Produce exchange days provide an opportunity to socialize with your garden neighbors, share growing secrets/tips and exchange fresh produce!

Pollinator gardens support plants that supply nectar & pollen to a wide range of pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds and animals.

Participants will learn the fine art of floral arranging and bouquet making through demonstration and hands-on methods.Join us for our upcoming Floral Arrangement Workshop facilitated by our fellow Pleasant Playground Community Gardner, Alyson Church. The workshop will take place this Sunday, August the 13th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will provide the flowers and will have some vases and snips available.
