Norris Square Neighborhood Project x Sankofa Community Farm at Las Parcelas GardenJoin Norris Square Neighborhood Project and Sankofa Community Farm at Las Parcelas Garden (2248 N Palethorp) on Thursday, October 20th from 4:30pm-7:30pm for a North East x South West Land Stewardship Mixer. This is an opportunity for all Philadelphia's greenspace stewards to connect and build together. During this mixer there’ll be:- Live music- Cooking demonstrations- Seed saving- Plant swaps- Alcholado making- Piqué workshopWe’ll serve light food and refreshments, free of charge, provided by Martha. Tickets include a traditional Puerto Rican meal, 2 drinks, and an entry into one our raffles. Enjoy music and dancing. NSNP is inaugurating Las Veredas, a children's garden with Las Parcelas.We are inviting all of our neighbors to bring their kids for an afternoon of fun! Face painting, gardening activities, crafts, music, and more will be there. This is a day for families and young people to enjoy the gardens and be together. We will serve pizza! This event is free and open to the public.

Iris Brown is hosting a BYO cooking class in our Villa Africana Colobó Garden, where she will teach how to make Puerto Rican favorites!As the first class of a three-part cooking session, Iris will teach the May 9 group how to make sofrito and asopao, two Puerto Rican classics.
