Please join the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University for the next professional networking event in the rECOnnect series: the Summer Nature Challenge. Gather together with like-minded naturalists, scientists, conservationists and anyone who wants to learn more about our local ecology. We will swap nature stories and identify plants, birds, mammals, insects and other organisms using iNaturalist. No experience necessary! Experts from the Academy and other scientific organizations will be on site to demonstrate what to look for and how to identify what we see. Downcycling, Recycling and Reuse: Fabscrap Education Session Saturday, June 7, 2025 2:00 PM-4:00 PM In this education session, Fabscrap will introduce visitors to the issues of fashion's pre-consumer textile waste, as well as the need for downcycling, recycling and reuse for both waste reduction and a shift toward circularity. Fabscrap is a nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn, New York City that has pioneered a system to recycle and reuse fabric waste, creating an accessible materials resource for creative communities, while reducing the fashion industry’s impact on the planet.
