Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic for an afternoon with Falconer Rodney Stotts, one of the country's leading Black master falconers and committed conservationists. The evening begins with a screening of “The Falconer”, a moving documentary that “…follows master falconer Rodney Stotts on his mission to build a bird sanctuary and provide access to nature for his stressed community". The film will be followed by an interview with Mr. Stotts and a book signing opportunity.

The 2nd annual Philly Birding Weekend will be hosted Oct. 13 - 15, 2023! We are bringing back some favorite field trips from last year, such as The Woodlands and John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. We are also adding new field trips, including excursions to the Navy Yard and Belmont Plateau. We hope that you'll consider joining us for another fun weekend of birding in Philadelphia. Join us for a riveting evening with Dorian Anderson to learn about his exciting yearlong adventure as he took a two-wheeled eco-friendly twist on the Big Year project, where a birdwatcher tries to observe as many species as possible during a calendar year. He ultimately survived subzero temperatures, drifting snow, gusting winds, lightning storms, mountainous ascents, dog attacks, crumbling roads, and several accidents. By the end of his travels, he had spotted 618 bird species across 18,000 miles of biking! Anderson will speak about the genesis of his bike-birding project, provide a thrilling recount of his travels, highlight the birds
