Meeting at Historic Rittenhouse Town Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?” By volunteering on this day, we will be giving back to our park, it’s users, the creek, and the plants and animals that rely on it to live. This year, we will be doing a clean-up beneath and around the recently re-opened bridges that connect Forbidden Drive to the paved bike path. Removing this litter will not only make this area of the park more beautiful, but it will keep our watershed healthier for all! No experience is

Walk Around Philadelphia – 2023 Exhibit Closing, Film Screening and Q&A @ Studio 34

Studio 34 4522 Baltimore Ave, Philadelphia, PA, United States

Philadelphia is large and contains multitudes. This exhibit, curated by longtime Studio 34 collaborator JJ Tiziou, features images from the city’s edge created by artists who’ve set out to explore the city’s margins on foot. Since 2016, Walk Around Philadelphia has evolved into a citywide public program that has facilitated the exploration of the city’s furthest (and wildest) reaches for hundreds of Philadelphians. Join us on June 4th 7-9pm for last chance to check out the exhibit, film screening of footage from the walk, and conversation / Q&A between JJ Tiziou & Morgan Andrews at 8pm.

Contemplative Nature Photography

The Barn at Historic RittenhouseTown 208 Lincoln Drive, Philadelphia, PA, United States

Join us for a contemplative approach to photographing nature using smartphones. The emphasis will be on the process, not the product. Walking meditation, mindful breathing, and contemplative appreciation of nature will be the doorways into a reflection on our relationship to nature. What images do we see? What stories do we create about what we observe? Can we learn to see familiar sights with new eyes?
