Winter Prep Volunteer Service

Meeting Location TBD As we close out the end of the year, we have a variety of important tasks to complete to prepare for the long, cold winter months! We’ll be raking leaves, cleaning out storm drains, and removing litter. Come out to help us take care of the Wissahickon! No experience is needed. We provide gloves, tools and instruction – you just need to show up! Volunteer service Days are excellent, easy ways to help us take care of Wissahickon Valley Park. Would you like to be part of keeping Wissahickon Valley Park beautiful and sustainable? Then join long-time steward of the Wissahickon and the FOW Volunteer of the Year (2019), David Bower, on a variety of stewardship projects at Thomas Mansion! At this very special part of The Wissahickon Valley, we’ll be sustaining recent FOW plantings of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, and we’ll be caring for some of the beautiful and historic gardens that have been cared for by generations of other volunteers. We’ll also remove invasive vegetation and windfall tree limbs, and we’ll occasionally do some maintenance on nearby trails.

Now + Then Marketplace Lucky Ducky Market

Now + Then Marketplace returns to The Block at Sono St. Patty's Day weekend with over 80 local vendors inside and out. The vacant storefront next to Target & Yards on 5th Street will once again be activated by N+T Marketplace a year later, inantely proving their initiative to occupy empty storefronts in the 'Meantime'. The market will feature vendors ranging from Bean2bean coffee and candles from Queer Candle Co to vintage clothes and original artwork.The market is free to attend, dog, and kid friendly. Adopt-a-Tree Tree Planting Event

Riverbend Environmental Education Center 1950 Spring Mill Road, Gladwyne, PA, United States

Join us with your family to adopt and plant trees at Riverbend. Fall is a wonderful time to plant trees just before it turns colder in the winter months. Planting trees at the preserve helps to provide habitat to local wildlife, combat climate change and helps to maintain our local water supply as the trees we plant keep runoff from heading to the Schuylkill River watershed.
