    Join us on June 22nd for ASHM’s Midsommarfest! Midsommar is one of Sweden’s most important holidays and a day to rejoice in the coming of summer at a time when daylight is at its longest. Following tradition, Swedes decorate with greenery and flowers as they sing songs and dance around the maypole, celebrating the start of the summer with family and friends. Hoist the maypole at ASHM’s Midsommarfest this year! The event is fun for the entire family with traditional Swedish food, live music provided by the Last Chance duo, and games and activities.   • Holiday Wreath-Making Workshop

    Riverbend Environmental Education Center 1950 Spring Mill Rd, Gladwyne, United States

    Do you have invasive vines growing in your yard? Join Riverbend staff for the first event in our Sustainable Living Series to learn how to remove vines and turn them into something beautiful. We’ll begin the workshop outside with some easy-to-follow instructions on removing invasive vines like English Ivy and five-leaf akebia. Clippers and work gloves will be provided. Next we’ll move inside Riverbend’s barn to turn the vines into a decoration you can enjoy in your own home or gift to a loved one. Every participant will receive a wooden wreath frame and have access to tools and supplies

    It’s that exciting time of the year again when our ponds fill to the brim with squirming tadpoles! Join Riverbend's Educators for this fascinating annual rite of spring that happens right here at Riverbend. Learn about the lifecycle of the amphibians that live at the Preserve and see the tadpoles in action. This fun event is open to individuals and to families with children of all ages. Guests will explore the preserve and visit activity stations to learn all about frogs. Depending on the weather and other natural factors, we may see a lot of tadpoles or none at all,
