River Alive! Learning Trail Opening Celebration

Join TTF and the Juniata, Tacony Creek Park, and Philadelphia communities in welcoming back the River Alive! Learning Trail benches and animals back to Juniata Park! The Learning Trail is a new and exciting way for families to enjoy green space together while engaging with the natural environment all around them in Tacony Creek Park! Six benches and animal sculptures will be re-installed along Cayuga Street in Juniata Park to connect you to Tacony Creek: fox, fish, turtle, heron, water snake, and a river otter. Each sculpture includes an interactive water feature, song, and sign. Poetry connects the six stations

Meet Philadelphia artist, Deborah Zuchman at @bennascafe (at the corner of *th & Wharton Sts.) Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2-4pm. Deborah was an Art Demonstration Teacher and taught in the Philadelphia Public Schools for thirty-five years. She also worked as a Project Manager for the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program for several years. Zuchman paints en plein air and from her imagination. Creative Conversations with Guest Artist Paul Dusold

Creative Conversations (CC) is a program bringing emerging and established artists together to engage in conversation in a welcoming and relaxed environment. CC is an opportunity to meet with artists who work in various mediums and talk about the joys, struggles, inspirations, and technical issues artists deal with throughout their creative journey. Participants have the opportunity to share their work and receive sensitive and useful feedback from the visiting artist. Paul Dusold Paul DuSold studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and privately with Arthur DeCosta and in fresco with B.F. Long. He has taught for thirty years

The Paintings & People at Cliveden

A Mt. Airy Learning Tree Winter Class Learn about famous artists from the 18th and 19th centuries including John Smibert, John Wollaston and Germantown locals James Reid and George Cochran Lambdin while exploring the portraits at Cliveden. Participants will learn about the artists, period painting styles and the people in the portraits and then have an opportunity to look at many of the paintings up close. The class fee is $25.
