Meet at Northwestern Ave. Kiosk on Forbidden Drive Hike the trails of the Andorra Natural Area and search for remaining plants and signs of the Andorra Nurseries-once the largest nursery on the east coast. We’ll look for rows of lined-out trees, walk old nursery roads, discover exotic and old specimen trees. Well behaved dogs are permitted. Meet at Houston Meadow Join Anne in sharing the sites, sounds, and feeling of exploring nature in the Wissahickon. This short hike for kids 3-6 years old will include some fun group activities and sharing, guided observations, perhaps a song or story, and the joy of being outside in the fresh air together! Expedition Reclamation tells the stories of a dozen women of color and how they formed powerful relationships with the outdoors, challenging the definition of who is typically seen as “outdoorsy,” and seeking to build a reciprocal relationship with the land that honors local indigenous cultures and peoples. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with women of color and how they have created a connection with nature right here in Philadelphia.

Join TTF Watershed Partnership for a week-long BioBlitz within the TTF Watershed in Philadelphia and Montgomery County! Starting on Saturday, April 22, volunteers can use the free iNaturalist smartphone app to document wildlife observations across the TTF Watershed and add them to our growing TTF project page: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/tookany-tacony-frankford-watershed-wildlife Participate from anywhere in the watershed on your own using the app. The BioBlitz will end on Monday, May 1 when we’ll see how many species we were all able to spot and identify.
