Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Philadelphia’s 2023 Garden Day & Plant Sale

Join us for the Philadelphia County Penn State Master Gardeners’ annual Garden Day & Plant Sale on Sunday, April 30, 2023! This year, we will have a large selection of affordable seedlings, native plants, and house plants for sale, including 100s of varieties of unique vegetables, herbs, native plants, and pollinators. Take advantage of great prices (and great plants!) for starting your garden or adding to an existing landscape. All plants have been carefully cultivated by Penn State Master Gardeners and proceeds support our educational programs in Philadelphia. Philadelphia Master Gardeners will also host garden tours, gardening workshops & demonstrations

Champagne Garden Tour at Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum

Spring is in full bloom at Andalusia! Join Horticulturist Kristin Biddle on a guided tour of the formal gardens along the banks of the scenic Delaware River. The guided tour begins on the grand porch of the Historic House with a glass of champagne and light refreshments. Upon the tour's conclusion, guests are invited to relax or stroll the River Walk. Access to the Historic House is not included with this tour.

Nurture with Nature: Therapeutic Horticulture

Working with the healing power of plants can help to decrease stress and anxiety, process grief, and improve overall well-being. Combining eco-mindfulness and creative activities, the workshops in this series invite participants to learn about the uses and roles of specific native plants through the lens of natural cycles. Workshops are led by Kate Irvine, a licensed Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner and mixed media artist. Participants are welcome to attend one, some, or all four 2025 sessions. This May 17th session will take place in Nature’s Sanctuary, a green burial habitat at Laurel Hill West. We’ll utilize pressed flowers and collage
