Mapping Our Watershed, a participatory art and community science project taking place in Cheltenham Township will culminate with a free community celebration and pop-up art exhibition, held on Thursday, August 24 from 5:30-7:30pm at High School Park, located at Montgomery Ave & High School Road in Elkins Park, PA. You are invited to join the Beehive Design Collective as they present their newly released 10 Year Anniversary edition of “MesoAmerica Resiste!”, their new book, “The True Cost of Coal”. The Bees use their massive, collaboratively produced, and intricately detailed fabric murals to tell complex global stories of stories of resistance, resilience, and solidarity. Rework the Runway is a sustainable fashion show and design competition happening on Earth Day 2024 at North Bowl in Philadelphia. 10-15 hand-selected Philly-based designers will use secondhand clothing and recycled materials to create one-of-a-kind reworked looks to be featured in a fashion show. The winner of the competition will win a full 4-way rack inside Urban Exchange Project to sell their items at full profit for 2 months as well as a First Friday event highlighting their residency. Urban Exchange Project will also be releasing its line of recycled and reworked pieces in the 2nd portion of the show.
