    Mapping Our Watershed, a participatory art and community science project taking place in Cheltenham Township will culminate with a free community celebration and pop-up art exhibition, held on Thursday, August 24 from 5:30-7:30pm at High School Park, located at Montgomery Ave & High School Road in Elkins Park, PA. Mapping Our Watershed is led by Elkins Park-based artist and educator Rebecca Schultz. The project aims to increase residents’ connection to and understanding the complex and interconnected ecology of the TTF Watershed. Creative Conversations series is a wonderful opportunity to meet with artists who work in various mediums and talk about the joys, struggles, questions, inspirations, and technical issues you are dealing with in your creative journey. There will be opportunities to share your work and receive sensitive and constructive feedback. This series is designed as a an exciting opportunity for artists to come together to talk and share ideas and open new pathways and perspectives.

    Creative Conversations (CC) is a program bringing emerging and established artists together to engage in conversation in a welcoming and relaxed environment. CC is an opportunity to meet with artists who work in various mediums and talk about the joys, struggles, inspirations, and technical issues artists deal with throughout their creative journey. Participants have the opportunity to share their work and receive sensitive and useful feedback from the visiting artist.   • What is a Watershed? Interactive Workshop with Artist Rebecca Schultz

    The Tookany/Tacony Frankford Watershed is partnering with local artist Rebecca Schultz for a multi-part educational program using arts and community science to learn about our watershed! During this first workshop, participants will learn what a watershed is and how our watershed is connected to all of the other watersheds in the Delaware Basin–and the global water cycle. We will then work together to create a community watershed map! Families and all ages are welcome to join us for this exciting intersection of art and science. The PA Department of Environmental Protection generously funds this project. REGISTRATION REQUIRED

  • ASSESSING WATERSHED HEALTH

    Interactive workshop with TTF and Artist Rebecca Schultz The Tookany/Tacony Frankford Watershed Partnership is partnering with local artist Rebecca Schultz for a multi-part educational program using arts and community science to learn about our watershed! This workshop will begin at High School Park, where participants will learn about key indicators of watershed health and conduct some sampling/monitoring activities at Tookany Creek, including collecting aquatic macroinvertebrates and testing dissolved oxygen. The workshop will then move to the Elkins Park Free Library (a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive) to create mixed media artworks inspired by the data they collected. Families
