We will walk portions of the trails along Tookany Creek in the Park, part of an official Audubon IBA (Important Bird Area). These walks are being sponsored by the Cheltenham Bird Town, and Sustainable Cheltenham, and supported by the Tookany Tacony Watershed Partnership and the Wyncote Audubon Society.   • TTF Spring BioBlitz 2023

    Join TTF Watershed Partnership for a week-long BioBlitz within the TTF Watershed in Philadelphia and Montgomery County! Starting on Saturday, April 22, volunteers can use the free iNaturalist smartphone app to document wildlife observations across the TTF Watershed and add them to our growing TTF project page: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/tookany-tacony-frankford-watershed-wildlife Participate from anywhere in the watershed on your own using the app. The BioBlitz will end on Monday, May 1 when we’ll see how many species we were all able to spot and identify.     Please join us for a bird walk at this underappreciated park in NE Philly! We should see warblers, thrushes, and sparrows while spring migration is slowly ramping up. We will meet at the Ramona Ave entrance (40.016572, -75.107705) and walk about 2-3 miles. Dress for weather. TTF provides binoculars!   Birding backpacks with binoculars and field guides are now back on loan at the following local Philly libraries: Andorra, Cobbs Creek, Cecil B.
