Join bird experts Robin Irizarry and Martin Selzer as they lead the 4 mile walk starting from I St & Ramona Ave Gateway to the Cheltenham Ave & Crescentville Rd Gateway.     Native edible and medicinal plant species can be integrated into gardens and ecological restoration projects to create habitats that support (and include) humans as part of local ecosystems. We’ll consider stewarding edible and medicinal plant species in native habitats such as riparian corridors and glades and discuss how a habitat-based approach translates to yards, parks, and farms. We’ll explore the prospect of changing our foodways to patterns that favor native diversity, rewarding restoration and stewardship. This program takes place online on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.     When:  Sunday, June 29 | 8 am Location: Friends Hospital  4641 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19124 Join Feminist Bird Club Philly on Saturday, June 14 at 8am for a bird outing at Tacony Creek Park. We’ll be looking for breeding activity, learning about the PA Bird Atlas, and hopefully seeing some goofy fledglings!   • Great Backyard Bird Count

    Laurel Hill Cemetery East 822 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA, United States

    Join experienced, knowledgeable guides from the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club for a birding walk at Laurel Hill East or Laurel Hill West, and learn to identify birds by sound and sight and record them in the Great Backyard Bird Count, an annual global event during which participants around the world record data about local birds to help scientists better understand and protect them.
