In this activity, led by mixed media artist Kyra Pope, participants are invited to decorate the cover of their own handmade junk journal using a wide range of recycled and collage materials. These journals serve as a personal space to explore joy, identity, and self-expression! This activity celebrates Black creativity, hair empowerment, and affirmation, encouraging everyone to experiment with layering, color, words, and texture.The goal isn’t perfection—it’s expression. No experience is needed! If you can tear paper and place a sticker, you can create something beautiful. Participants can take home their journal to continue exploring their voice, story, or simply
