    Do you love Wissahickon Valley Park? Would you like to play a direct role in keeping this special place clean and accessible for generations to come? Then join us for a variety of stewardship projects on Thursday mornings! Locations and tasks will vary week to week, and may include trash clean-ups, trail improvements, invasive plant removal, graffiti removal, and general park beautification. No experience is needed.     The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is hosting FREE biking days at Bartram’s Garden through the end of November. Come ride the Bartram Mile trail! Come by for free bike loans, simple repairs, tips, and tricks! Snacks will be provided. Bike loans are available to minors with the accompaniment of a guardian or with a signed waiver.     Who hangs out in Bartram’s Garden after the sun goes down? We’ll be checking out nighttime insects and animals in the Garden with Naturalist Ken Frank (author of Ecology of Center City Philadelphia, Garden Horticulturalist Mandy Katz, and young Entomologist Adam Knap in the wooded Lower Garden nearby the Schuylkill River, luring an incredible array of nocturnal insects with black lights, overripe bananas, and molasses. Intrigued? Come out for a rare opportunity to get an up-close look at some of the ethereal animals that spend the days hidden in plain sight in Philly’s urban wilderness.     Join your neighbors for fun, rejuvenating, and healthy fitness runs on the paved Tacony Creek Park Trail, part of the Circuit Trails Network! Run or ride your bike on the trail with us. Free! Schedule: Run on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings between 5 AM and 7:30 AM based on the preferences of participants. Saturday mornings between 7:30 AM– 9 AM.   • Walk with Me

    Let’s take a healthy stroll in the park together! Join your neighbors every Saturday morning for a healthy and empowering stroll on the Tacony Creek Park trail. On Saturdays, we meet from 9:30am–10:30am near Tacony Creek Park. All are welcome to join us for this free walking group. The trail is a paved, fairly flat Circuit Trail; all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. Please bring a face mask and keep six feet away from other attendees.     Health reminders: We are in accordance with Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia’s current COVID-19 response levels. Please follow the link to stay up-to-date on our city’s protocols. If you are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please do not volunteer. Volunteers will assist with weeding and potting plants for our greenhouse and nursery. Volunteers will have the opportunity see what is growing behind the scenes and help support the nursery operations. Registered volunteers will meet at the Sankofa Community Farm promptly at 9:30 AM. Staff will escort you to the greenhouse from the farm and provide instructions and safety protocols
