The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is hosting FREE biking days at Bartram’s Garden through the end of November. Volunteers help with setup and breakdown at the outdoor Bike Hub, assist with helmet fitting, hand out snacks, and lead free bike rentals registration while BCGP staff is teaching classes, giving tours, or taking a bathroom break. No previous knowledge or experience in cycling required. We are ideally looking for volunteers to commit to our Friday volunteer days throughout the season, including a few of our Saturday and Sunday Open Bike Hubs. Join TTF Watershed Partnership for a week-long BioBlitz within the TTF Watershed in Philadelphia and Montgomery County! Starting on Saturday, April 22, volunteers can use the free iNaturalist smartphone app to document wildlife observations across the TTF Watershed and add them to our growing TTF project page: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/tookany-tacony-frankford-watershed-wildlife Participate from anywhere in the watershed on your own using the app. The BioBlitz will end on Monday, May 1 when we’ll see how many species we were all able to spot and identify. Join us for our second FREE “Birds of a Feather” to Celebrate Trails and Earth Day! Talented artists from our community will live paint along the Tacony Creek Park trail, which is part of the Circuit Trails network. Meet at Blue Bell Hill Park Experience the Wissahickon in June with Andi, Debbie, and Jim. We last did this hike in January when we had beautiful vistas because the leaves were down. This time we will have beautiful flora and hopefully will hear if not see some pretty birds. Our 3.5-4 mile hike will bring us to the East Falls trail on the other side of Lincoln Drive where we will visit the McKinney Quarry. Expect some steep and rocky climbs and descents. Children 12 years and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult, but please, no dogs
